Frequently Ask Questions

  • We focus on precision. By roasting in small batches using state-of-the-art equipment, we maintain total control over every variable. This modern approach allows us to achieve a level of consistency and flavor clarity that larger roasters simply can't match.

  • Always. We roast in limited quantities to ensure our beans never sit on a shelf. To be fully transparent, we include a "Roasted On" date on the back of every bag, so you know exactly how fresh your coffee is.

  • Our menu follows the harvest. We typically offer a rotating selection of 7–10 varieties, ranging from bright, floral light roasts to bold, rich dark roasts. As the seasons change, so do our beans.

  • If you're just starting your specialty coffee journey, we recommend a Medium to Dark roast. These beans are more "forgiving," meaning they taste great even if your home brewing technique isn't 100% perfect yet.

  • Single-origin means the beans come from one specific place, usually a single farm, estate, or region. This allows you to taste the unique "terroir" (the soil and climate) of that specific part of the world, unblended and pure.

  • A blend is a curated mix of beans from different regions. We design our blends to create a specific, balanced flavor profile by pairing the bright acidity of one bean with the deep, chocolatey body of another to create a harmonious, consistent cup.

  • We believe decaf drinkers deserve the same quality as everyone else. We use the Swiss Water Process, which uses only time, temperature, and water to remove caffeine. This ensures no harsh chemicals ever touch your beans, leaving the natural flavor profile intact.

  • Yes! We offer premium Swiss Water Decaf. This process uses only water and temperature to remove caffeine without the use of harsh chemicals, ensuring your decaf cup is as clean and flavorful as our regular offerings.

  • Coffee needs a little "beauty sleep" after it leaves the roaster. This is called degassing. For the best flavor, we recommend waiting 4–7 days after the roast date, especially for espresso, to avoid a "gassy" or metallic taste. For drip or pour-over, 3–4 days is usually the sweet spot.

  • Don't worry, those are called chaff. It is the "silverskin" of the coffee bean that remains tucked inside the fold during roasting. Because we roast our specialty beans light-to-medium to preserve their origin flavors, the chaff doesn't always burn away. It is completely tasteless, harmless, and a sign of high-quality, craft-roasted coffee.

  • Keep it cool and dark. We recommend an airtight container in your pantry. Skip the refrigerator. The moisture and odors in there can ruin the delicate oils of the bean. While the freezer is okay for long-term storage of unopened bags, a cool, dry shelf is best for your daily brew.

  • Since your cup is 98% water, the quality of your tap matters as much as the beans. Using a simple carbon filter (like a Brita) can dramatically improve the clarity of your coffee. For true enthusiasts, check out our The Lab section for a deeper dive into the chemistry of the perfect brew.

  • We can grind your beans for any setup. Simply let us know your preferred brewing method, whether it's Espresso, V60, Auto-Drip, or French Press, and we will dial in the perfect grind size for you.

  • While we always recommend grinding whole beans fresh to prevent oxidation (loss of flavor), we are happy to grind your coffee for you. Just let us know your preferred method—Drip, French Press, or Espresso—and we'll dial it in for you.

  • Yes! We offer free WiFi for all our guests. To keep the cafe a balanced space for both workers and socializers, we have designated "laptop-friendly" zones where you can plug in and get focused.

  • Absolutely. In addition to Whole, 2%, and Half & Half, we offer high-quality oat and almond milks to pair with your favorite lattes or fusion drinks.

  • It means no shortcuts. We source high-quality, transparent ingredients, from our syrups made without artificial preservatives to our carefully selected dairy and produce. If we wouldn't serve it to our own families, we won't serve it to yours.

  • Always. We believe coffee this good deserves a worthy companion. Our pastries and baked goods are delivered or baked fresh daily to ensure that every bite has the perfect texture and flavor.

  • We strive to be inclusive. While our menu rotates, we frequently offer vegan and gluten-free wraps and treats. Please ask our baristas about today's specific offerings or check the labels in our grab-and-go case.

Note: While we offer gluten-free options, our kitchen handles flour, so we cannot guarantee a 100% flour-free environment.

  • We lean into the seasons. To ensure we are using ingredients at their peak flavor, we rotate our food and beverage menus throughout the year. It allows us to experiment with Indian fusion flavors and seasonal harvests, so there is always something new for you to discover.

  • Yes! All orders over $45 qualify for free shipping anywhere in the U.S.

  • Currently, our cafe and online shop operate on two different systems, so gift cards are not interchangeable. Cafe gift cards are for in-person treats, and online codes are for your shipped beans.

  • Pop-ups are in our DNA. We started our journey with them, and they remain an essential part of who we are. If you're a local artist or maker interested in collaborating, please reach out via our contact page.

  • We love fueling your meetings and events! For large orders of sourdough toasts, croissant sandwiches, or carafes of coffee, please contact us in advance so we can prepare everything fresh.
